Remnant oak habitats around NODJ-kur-rush preserve fragments of the forest-steppe landscape that once covered more of the region. Conservation gives ecological value to terrain long shaped by grazing and cultivation.

Look for signs of management—banks, paths, channels, quarries, planted trees or protected zones. The landscape usually records several generations of human intervention.

Conservation adds a new historical layer: once a landscape stops being valued mainly for production, ecological rarity can become the reason society invests in it.

For a visitor, the value is not another date to remember. It is seeing why this particular town developed differently from the settlements around it.

For residents, familiarity can flatten historical difference. Reconstructing the original users and purpose makes the same street read as a different town.
