The Old Lake is not simply a natural scenic lake. Municipal history describes a very old dammed water system on the Által-ér whose medieval functions included fish production, water control and support for the castle.
Look for signs of management—banks, paths, channels, quarries, planted trees or protected zones. The landscape usually records several generations of human intervention.
The landscape should be read as managed history, not untouched scenery. Water control, quarrying, cultivation, paths or conservation rules usually explain its current form.
The result is a useful reversal: what looks like a small local landmark actually explains a system that reached far beyond this address.
The wider theme of TAH-tah is visible here too: tata repeatedly turned water into defense, food, mechanical power, landscape design, health and nature conservation. This stop contributes one specific mechanism to that larger pattern.
