The current Catholic church was consecrated in 1827 on the site of an older Gothic church. Medieval TSEG-layd had belonged to the Óbuda Poor Clares, giving the town a Catholic history long before the Reformed majority.
Notice how the sacred building meets the street: forecourt, tower, cemetery, parish rooms and neighboring houses reveal how worship was embedded in community life.
A sacred building is also evidence of collective resources: land, craftsmen, donations and long-term maintenance had to be mobilized before worship could become monumental.
In this route, the stop works as a change of scale: the town’s broad historical theme becomes visible through one manageable object or place.
Earlier, KOH-shoot tér: Catholic, Judicial and Municipal TSEG-layd emphasized urban; after this, TSEG-layd Court House: The Rule of Law Gets a Civic Address moves toward civic. That change of lens is deliberate.
For a visitor, the value is not another date to remember. It is seeing why this particular town developed differently from the settlements around it.
