The protected Marian statue on UR-eg-hedj places religious devotion directly inside the production landscape. Vineyards, processions and household faith occupied the same slopes.
Read the inscription date as carefully as the event date. The distance between them tells you when and why the community chose to make this memory public.
The stone or sculpture is not eyewitness evidence. It is a later interpretation placed in public space, and its location helps explain the audience the commemorators wanted to reach.
This stop also helps distinguish the town from Budapest: the same historical forces operated here, but they produced a different scale and pattern of urban life.
