The Franciscan church adds a monastic religious institution to YAAS-beh-rayny’s parish-centered Catholic landscape. Friars supported worship, preaching and community life beyond the main church.
Notice how the sacred building meets the street: forecourt, tower, cemetery, parish rooms and neighboring houses reveal how worship was embedded in community life.
The position of the building matters as much as doctrine. Churches, chapels and monasteries helped organize routes, squares and neighborhood identity around repeated communal use.
