Novi Sad

A cross-Danube walk through Novi Sad’s creation as a Habsburg free royal city, its rise as a centre of Serbian culture, multi-confessional urban life, the destruction of 1849, the Holocaust and January 1942 Raid, and Petrovaradin’s older military geography. The route ends at the fortress that both protected and once bombarded the city across the river.
