Atlanta — Sweet Auburn & Civil Rights

Sweet Auburn was not created by Martin Luther King Jr.; it helped create the world that made his leadership possible. This route follows Black Atlanta’s churches, businesses, fraternal organizations, markets and civic institutions under segregation, then connects King’s birth home and Ebenezer Baptist Church to the broader civil-rights movement and the political center of modern Georgia.
