The Hamza Collection grew from the donation of painter and film director Ákos Hamza D. and his wife LEH-hel Mária. The museum opened in 1995 in the YAAS-beh-rayny property bought to support Hamza’s return to Hungary, turning an international artistic life into a local cultural institution.
Ask what practical institution makes the cultural story possible: a school, collection, audience, workshop or funding body. Fame survives because someone keeps organizing it.
