Jockey Hollow is where the American Revolution stops looking like a painting and starts looking like a supply problem.
During the winter of 1779 to 1780, approximately twelve thousand Continental soldiers were stationed here.
The winter was one of the coldest on record. Soldiers struggled with food shortages, inadequate clothing and poor conditions.
But the camp did not collapse.
The achievement was not a dramatic battlefield victory. It was maintaining an army capable of fighting another day.
That is why Morristown matters. Revolutions are not won only when someone fires a weapon. They are won when people, systems and resources keep working.
