Vancouver's oldest commercial districts expose the Pacific city's foundations: Indigenous territory, a railway terminus, port capitalism, Chinese migration, discriminatory law and community resilience. This compact route moves from the CPR waterfront through Gastown into Chinatown and ends with the city's erased Black neighbourhood at Hogan's Alley.
